Mr.Kengo Sakai

Mr. Kengo Sakai is the Director of D&N International, a group company that manages all overseas businesses outside Japan. It is the subsidiary of Doutor Nichires Holdings, one of the biggest F&B companies in Japan.

 Mr. Sakai has been managing D&N Singapore since April 2015, which owns Hoshino Coffee, Doutor Coffee, The Asian Kitchen, and Yomenya Goemon in Singapore.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the F&B business, and has join D&N International since 2009.

Mr. Sakai is on his mission in Singapore was to develop these restaurant brands under his belt, while his family is living in Tokyo. He holds a MBA from Warwick Business School in the UK, and his favourite Singaporean food are Chicken Rice, Bak Kut The, Sweet Potato Leaves with Sambal sauce. Of course, all these Singaporean cuisines go best with a glass of Tiger Beer in ice.

At this event, Mr. Sakai will be sharing with us his experience in the F&B business, his passion about coffee, and the cafe culture in Japan.

He will also make comparison and contrast of the cafe business between Japan and Singapore.

Participants will also have a chance to made your own hand-drip coffee for coffee tasting.

There will also be coffee products to be won during quiz time.

About D&N International & D&N Singapore

Doutor・Nichires Holdings is one of the biggest listed F&B companies in Japan operating more than 1900 outlets, including their franchised restaurants.

Doutor Coffee is the biggest coffee chain company in terms of the number of stores. It also specializes in coffee businesses, such as roasting of coffee beans, and selling coffee beverages.

 

D&N International is set up in 2011 for integrating all overseas businesses under the group company for developing their overseas business.

D&N Singapore bought over a local F&B company, The Asian Kitchen before setting up the company, and is now operating 10 outlets in Singapore with 3 other brands: Hoshino Coffee, Doutor Coffee, and Yomenya Goemon.
