Position 1:

Part-time Or Internship: "Japan-Singapore Awesome Project Executive" 

University students, Japanese university students, and Japanese ex-change students are welcome.

 

Responsibilities

As the "Japan-Singapore Awesome Project Executive", you will be working closely with the Founder/ Producer of WASABI Creation in brainstorming, planning, preparing, and executing the most exciting projects and events that bridge Japan and Singapore, bring together the BEST of the both worlds.

 

You will be:

  • Making things happen by one way or another for WASABI Creation's projects and ideas

  • Researching for information and data needed for strategic planning

  • Marketing for events and services to the targeted market segment

  • Translation from between English and Japanese for marketing

  • Coordinating and communicating with partners, clients, and vendors to push forward various projects

  • Interviewing & writing for WASABI Enterprise, an online portal on businesses & ventures related to Japan

  • Networking with local, Japanese, and foreign companies for business opportunities

  • Planning, preparing, and executing various projects and events for WASABI Creation and its clients

 

Projects:​

  • WASABI Insight

    • A regular social networking event for bridging Singapore & Japan in terms of Business, Culture, & Talents, in order to enhance interaction & exchange of ideas between Singaporeans, Japanese, as well as other expatriate professionals.

  • WASABI Discovery:​

    • WASABI Discovery is a casual presentation and meet-up event for the world to make new discovery about Japan and its people. At each event, we invite a couple of special guests to share and discuss about culture, people, happenings, or simply any topic from Japan that is worth discovering. We will also engage the participants in the conversation to make comparisons and contrasts with the local or other countries. ​

  • Red Dot Cinema:

    • Red Dot Cinema (www.reddotcinema.com) curates series of short films from different Asia countries and distribute them to all around the world to be screened at interesting places. We hope to bring the work of budding film makers to the world audiences and share culture and values of Asia to the world through independent short films.
      In 2015, we have had screenings in 17 cities USA, UK, Canada, Poland, Panama, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, Japan and Singapore.

  • WASABI Enterprise

    • WASABI Enterprise introduces Japanese companies & entrepreneurs in Singapore, or businesses with an interest in Japan. We get in touch with entrepreneurs and managers to tell us about their businesses, their challenges, success and failure through interviews and company visits.

  • WASABI Apprentice:

    • An experiential learning program for exchange students in Singapore to test their limits, acquire business skills, build network, and explore unlimited opportunities in Singapore. Making student exchange a different experience from the rest.

  • And many others.......

 

 

Requirements

  • Native Japanese (ability to communicate in English), Japanese speaker (N2 or above), and non-Japanese speakers with deep interest in Japan

  • The desire to make a difference to your life and others' lives by deploying your talent

  • The mentality to take up new challenges and has "make it happen" spirit

  • Able to work independently with little supervision and high initiative

  • The attitude to learn for obtaining new knowledge, new skills and new experiences

  • Able to take care of details and demand high standards

  • Interest in Japan and Japanese culture

  • Writing skill is a bonus (in English OR Japanese for producing interview articles)

  • Japanese-English translation skill is a bonus

  • Design & photography, filmmaking skills are bonuses

 

Committment

  • Internship: Minimum 3 weeks, fulltime, 5 days a week

  • Part-time: Minimum 4 hours a day, minimum 2 days a week

  • Can work independently at own free time

  • Daily work reporting to managing director

  • Company meeting at least once a week

  • Must able to meet deadlines

  • Can work from home in some situations

  • Flexible hours: including office hours, evenings, and weekends

 

Salary

  • To be discussed

  • Depending on work commitment, experience, and skill level

Part-time Internship: "Journalist for Discovering Japanese Entrepreneurs & Business ventures in Singapore " 

Japanese ex-change students are welcome.

 

Introduction

WASABI Enterprise introduces Japanese companies & entrepreneurs in Singapore, or businesses with an interest in Japan. We get in touch with entrepreneurs and managers to tell us about their businesses, their challenges, success and failure through interviews and company visits. We hope that through these stories, there will be a better insight about Japanese corporations & ventures in Singapore, the Japanese market, trends and technologies. We also hope to inspire other business owners and create opportunities for partnership and collaboration.

 

Responsibilities

As the "Journalist for Discovering Japanese Entrepreneurs & Business ventures in Singapore", you will be working closely with the Founder/ Producer of WASABI Creation in planning, preparing, making appointments with companies, conducting interviews, and writing articles for the most exciting companies and Japanese entrepreneurs in Singapore. 

 

You will be:

  • Making things happen by one way or another for WASABI Enterprise

  • Research on the companies before the interviews

  • Coordinating and communicating with companies for interview

  • Conduct an interview with Japanese company founders and managers

  • Make a recording of the interview, summarize the points and write an article, using other materials related to this company if necessary

  • Marketing for WASABI Enterprise

 

 

Requirements

  • Able to speak and write Japanese (native Japanese)

  • The desire to make a difference to your life and others' lives by deploying your talent

  • The mentality to take up new challenges and has "make it happen" spirit

  • Able to work independently with little supervision and high initiative

  • The attitude to learn for obtaining new knowledge, new skills and new experiences

  • Able to take care of details and demand high standards

  • Able to write well in English OR Japanese for producing interview articles

  • Japanese-English translation skill is a bonus

  • Design skill is a bonus
